The OLED is the abbreviated form of organic light-emitting diode which is also known by another name – organic electroluminescent diode. It is a type of light discharging diode in which the effusive electroluminescent film-like organic compound gives out light when fed with electric current.

Tris aluminium is used to emit green light and is a transport material for the electrons. It is also a host for the red and yellow discharging dyes.
